And so, i'm back. hong kong for one week with my family was a trying, fun, enjoyable, tiering, interesting, educational time all at once. we set off last monday the 17th of dec to hk. the internet said it would be cold, about 13-22 degree celceus. well, thats not so bad we thought, just like a normal too cold air conditioned room. and so we arrived. the airport there was fine. we bought octopus cards, something very similar to the ezlink cards we have in s'pore which allows us to take their mtr trains and busses. it was kinda cool, just much more complicated than the transport network we have here.
we then took a taxi to our hotel which we figured was in a corner of hk, in the secluded somewhere in the mountains. disneyland hotel proved to be beautiful, if not a little small. the room was (i think) meant for 2 people, but 4 of us shared it anyway. 2 queen sized beds. how to share? and this is how i ended up getting kicked off the bed by my brother every night.
the rest of the experiences were totally mag too. other than the cold): oh gosh. the internet, we figured was such a total liar>< guess what guess what? we went to the night market in the night and it started raining, and then from tuesday night onwards, the temperature never went above 15 degree celsus. it went all the way to about 7? BLAR chilled, frozen!!
i am actually too lazy to post about the whole trip, but i shall talk about the shopping experience. the night market was kinda terrible. messy and the people are really rude. yupp. also, we were afraid of pick pockets and my bagpack was carried infront of me the whole journey. OH. and it was raining as i mentioned earlier. yeah. cold, wet things just dont go well with me. haha. bought lots of things though. got tee shirts, small souvineres for peeps and a bag. haha. shopping in the centers were better. but times square was super expensive, so we decided to leave empty handed and headed down to the surrounding streets instead(:
disneyland!!! woohoo. that was cool. well actually its more of a family thing, so we could all go together for all the rides and stuff. i enjoyed it(: unlike ocean park, my parents actually went for some rides here (:
oceanpark was .... (i'm speechless) in order not to disappoint my brother, and not to leave him allone on the rides,i offered to accompany him. though if you know me, you know that anything high and fast just isnt my thing. i'm super scared of this kinda thing, but I WENT FOR THE ROLLER COASTER! and the VIKING THINGY! AND THE RIVER RIDE LOG THING! gosh i am proud of myself. i'm usually such a loser when it comes to this kinda things haha! well for my brother. if i were alone, i wouldnt even have gotten close to the queues. lols.
so we did lotsa other things. walked a lot. it was great, but i'm glad to be back(:
christmas is coming and school is starting. AH well, shall worry about it when the time comes(: live's good right now. at this very moment. see you soon peeps.
